Hey, Hi, Hello!

I’m Lisette, the proud owner of Tally & Tide Bookkeeping — affectionately named to combine my love for “tallying” the numbers with my love of the ocean.

I’m one of those people who genuinely adores math. Weird, but true. It’s something I’ve always been drawn to.

Growing up, my dad was an electrical engineer. His office was filled with what I referred to back then simply as “math books.” I used to lie on the floor of his study and flip through the pages, poring over the formulas — the mix of numbers and letters, the italicized and bolded characters, the funny symbols. I remember wondering what it all meant, as if it were a language I wished I could understand.

As I grew older, I fell away from trying to learn the language. I was still always good at math, but I thought my career would lie somewhere in the creative world. After a few years working retail, everything changed when I landed a part-time job as an administrative assistant in an accounting department.

Since then, I’ve spent nearly a decade working my way up the ladder in the beautiful world of accounting, growing from an entry-level accounting role into an Accounting Team Lead. I earned my bookkeeping certification through the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers in 2023, and I’m currently working toward my bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Along the way, I’ve worked hands-on with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, month-end close, reconciliations, year-end audits, and — one of my faves — process improvements.

Give me an account that doesn’t balance, a process that takes ten steps when it should take three, a project that needs to be tracked, or books that need a little untangling, and I’m absolutely vibing.

I love finding the why behind the numbers and creating better systems so things run more smoothly going forward.

That’s the same mindset I bring to Tally & Tide.

I started this business to give entrepreneurs something I think every business deserves: books they can trust and financial information they can actually understand.

My goal isn’t just to categorize transactions and send you reports. I want your bookkeeping to feel organized, intentional, and useful — so you have a clear picture of your business without having to live inside the numbers yourself.

Accounting is widely known as “the language of business” because it communicates vital financial information to the people making decisions. I love that I get to use it to help other entrepreneurs understand the story their own numbers are telling.
